Zodiac LM3 Questions

We recently moved into a hour in October and have just gotten to use our swimming pool for the first time this summer. We have an Zodiac LM3 saltwater chlorinator that is not working properly and producing any chlorine. We have replaced the salt cell and the board inside of the part that is suppose to adjust levels and we keep getting a reading that says "Check Salt" and the chlorine output stays on yellow and will not adjust. We have the correct amount of salt in the pool but cannot seem to reset it or get it to work properly. Any suggestions on what we may need to do? We have made two fixes already and we are stuck as to what to do next? Thank you.

Welcome to TFP

From the manual the zodiac says it needs a pretty high concentration of salt for that light not to come on 4000+ but it says that it will still work with this light on...

"Check Salt - Light ON The Check Salt light will come on at any salt level between 3000ppm and 4000ppm dependingon mains voltage, water temperature (below 65˚) & the salt level. This is not a fault but aprecaution to ensure the salt level is never too low. (See ‘Salt:When And How To Add It’).Note: Operating the LM3 at reduced salt levels may shorten the life of the cell.TheCheck Salt light may also come on if the cell is scaled, indicating manual cleaningis required."

How much salt is in your pool? what are you using to check? How much salt doe the LM3 show in the pool (is there a display)? Also how are you checking the FC? Sometimes you need to test a water sample at the return jet to verify if FC is being created and consumed at the same time. This could happen if you have other water issues such as low CYA or something growing in the pool
