Please help. I believe I have yellow algea. I've treated my pool twice this week without success. The first treatment I used Yellow, chlorine after 5 minutes, at 12 hours and 24 hours, vacuumed to waste and backwashed filter. It was back the next morning. Then I used algeacide and shocked and brushed the entire pool and it's back the next morning. Pool chemistry is perfect and pool is only 4 years old. Saltwater, inground vinyl pool.

Welcome to TFP! Here at TFP we follow a SLAM Process to kill and eliminate algae for good. Algaecides basically do nothing to kill algae. Most of those store products actually do more harm than good by adding by-products that can cause more problems later. Liquid chlorine, applied and maintained at the appropriate level based on your current CYA reading is key - see FC/CYA Levels. Your SWG is not designed to elevated the FC high enough to kill algae. To use these references and apply the techniques, you have to have a proper at-home test kit, either a TF-100 (link in my signature) or Taylor K-2006C. Take a look at those links provided and let us know if you have any questions about the test kits, SLAM, or FC/CYA Chart.
