How have you tackled organizing your cables? Over time, repairs, equipment replacements, and critter damage (like my recent issue with a chewed control line) can lead to a messy setup. I have some ideas, but I'd love to hear how you've:
  • Cleaned up your cables
  • Raised them out of critter range
  • Improved accessibility and protection
  • Labeled

Don’t have any wires or cables on the ground. Suspend them with tie wraps as loops.
I wrap all the RS485 cables in a cable protector (less then $10 for about 20 ft or so at Home Depot)
I put excess cable (if I want to keep the cable in tact) in a weatherproof box with small opening for the in and out of the cable - than I tape over any openings
All electrical wires to pumps, heater is in metal/plastic conduit

Done! Great idea and much better organized. Thanks for the great suggestion.

I bundle and route cables together, then enclose them in wire loom to keep them out of the UV.

Kable Kontrol Wire Loom Tubing - Corrugated Split - 3-1/2 Inside Diameter - 10' Length - Black

For my largest bundle, I cut a length of pool vac hose, split it down the middle, and used that (a giant-sized wire loom).

I replaced my last broke-down nylon zip-tie, and now only use stainless steel wire, to keep wires in place (anywhere outside). This stuff:

I also route wires (in wire loom) under pipes as much as possible, to keep them out of the noon-day sun. From above, you can't see very many wires. The grey conduit was installed by the original pool builder. I also use wire loom over the small tubes I have at my pad (part of my acid dispensing system).

My yard is fenced, and partly electrified (no kidding), so I don't have many wire-chewers wandering around.
