Just had to replace a whole home dehumidfier and wanted to give props to Aprilaire customer service. Bad news is the E100 died in 22 months but the good news is I called Monday morning to the tech support and got a living breathing person in the USA in Wisconsin to trouble shoot and we determined compressor was shot. Great news by 4pm today we had a brand new unit delivered by Fedex in New Jersey from Wisconsin. The logistics for all of that to work that quickly is a testament to their customer service and their facility in Wisconsin. First one lasted 7 years and the the 2nd one lasted 22 months but they have 5 year warranties. So can I recommend the unit, well if it lasts longer than 7 years then yes but man they are expensive (unit one was $1000 back in 2015 and the Unit two was $1500 in 2022 so they are not cheap but they do keep my basement which is very large completely dry at 45% humidity). My brother has been going through the small 50 pint ones likes every 2 years and they are now 3 bills a pop. Sad that technology that was perfected probably 80 years ago is now made so cheap they just don't last. Aprilaire is designed and manufactured in the US so one would think it would last but its a Crud shoot on everything today. Fridges that cost $3k are expected to last 7 years, really peeves me.
