Bringing Thisback from the dead.....Just purchased a chlorsync that will be installed in Feb. Whats with all the power failures????? Should I return? Or does every system have its issues? Looking for feedback from previous/current owners. Had the old Dig220 system, and LOVED it.

Going by this post in this thread it doesn’t sound great. I didn’t want to dissuade you since you intended to order a model you were familiar with initially but it may be worth looking into other options.
While all models have issues that report sounds excessive.

I had zero issues with the old system. Sounds like the gen1 has issues with the actual cs30 cell, that I would would be using. Maybe I should get the newer gen2 that uses the cell from the old system, but a different power supply with the built in control in the power supply. I know autopilot is wonderful with warranty,

If you’re referring to the hybrid with the ppc cells that’s probably a better choice. They are also much cheaper to replace when the time comes. I believe they even have a 60k rated one if you so choose in the future.

I will only have a 18,000 gallon pool, so that giant cell would be overkill. Gonna see if I can return, and get the new Gen. If not, I wont stress it. AutiPilot has reassured me they have many units out there working fine for years. IDK, I got the last gen1 unit for 50% off, from an authorized dealer. I worry too much about things.

The main reason I suggest the hybrid w/ppc cell is the replacement cost since its a cell only. Also many here who have those cells have experienced pretty long lifespans with them - I don’t understand the need to reinvent the wheel and the totally integrated units (all the stuff in one package) seem like such a waste to me as individual parts go bad but the whole thing must be replaced.
Of course it benefits the manufacturer in the long run. But It makes me think they learned their lesson a little and introduced the hybrid option.
Yes, a 60k cell is a little overkill but we love the ability to have spare chlorine around here & choices lol 😂
The less % you need to run the cell the longer it will take to burn through its finite lifespan.
A 40k unit is ideal for that size pool & still gives plenty of flexibility.
curious to see the daily fc losses in your new area compared to that of your previous pool as they are different climate conditions. After you get things going you’ll have plenty of time to decide on if upping the size is something to consider before your next replacement.
There’s so many things to decide on during a build it can drive a “planner” type person crazy 🤪
