Where am I gonna install my salt chlorine generator?

I would love to install a slat chlorine generator and all instructions I read tell me the generator need be installed after the heater before pool water returns into the pool.
Unfortunately, my current plumbing makes this impossible and space is tight in the area. I hope the attached image shows my problem.

Any suggestions on how to extend the plumbing? Should I come out of the heater and go up? Does it matter if I go up with the plumbing, install the chlorine generator and then back down into the pool /spa valve?Any suggestions from the pros, I'd appreciate the help! Thank you?

You can make a horseshoe. See picture as an example which uses a 3rd party SWCG.
Do you have automation? What SWCG were you thinking of purchasing? How many gals is your pool & spa?View attachment 389337
Thank you, the manual says there should be 12-18 of straight pipe before the Chlorine generator. Does that matter?

It's a 16000 gallon pool and since the entire system is a pentair I was thinking of going with the pentair intellichlor system 20k gallon

Go with the IC30 or IC40 for 16k gals. SWCG ratings are based on running at 100% for 24/7 so the larger SWCG gives you some flexibility on how long you run your pump vs. % setting on the SWCG. Do you have a Pentair automation system? If you fill out your signature and include all your current equipment and pool volume that will help with future needs.

Ideally you want the 12-18 inches. If you go vertical then you can do it.

Yes I have a Pentair Easy Touch System. The installation of the SWCG is pretty straight forward, unfortunately my plumbing coming out of the heater is pretty tight.
