what to do with old booster line

HI,
i am re plumbing an old pool. i have 2 returns and one more line (full size - 1.5 in) for booster. i dont plan on using the booster pump.

the way i understand it, the booster line must be joined to one of the return lines. but since they are under the ground, i dont know where.

is it ok to just cap that line and forget it or should i dig in , find the "T" where the booster pipe started and disconnect it?

since i was re-doing the plumbing and extending the lines so i've extended the line, but thinking if i should do back and find that joint and worst case... what if i dont find the joint ?

@Divin Dave the pipe is connected to the return on one side... i can cap off the other side... since part of it is old black poly, is there a danger of pipe exploding ?

@PoolGate the booster line doesnt go all the way to the pool.... i looked at the old pool inspection and there are 2 returns, but i have 3 lines for return, so the 3rd booster line is connected to one of the return lines at some point
