What the FLOCK??

I have the coping installer coming out later in the week to remove/replace a blemished tile. Due to the grinding needed on the mortar this is bound to make a nice fine mess of my sparkling pool :grrrr:

I could bang on forever about the quality of the contractors who've done this install, but I've done enough of that to anyone who's listen to me complain over the last few months :brickwall:

My question for the group is what will be the best way to clean this fine dust out of the pool?

Originally the installer threw in some Flock, waited a few days then vacuumed to waste with his special pump. As far as I'm aware, I don't have that luxury with a cartridge filter do I? How would you clean the mess up?

Avoid flocculant like it's the devil himself......

I would try to stop as much as possible from going into the pool, maybe float a good size storage bin next to where he is working, secured with a couple of ropes.

What ever does get in the pool, scoop up the biggest bits, vac up the left over fine particles, then clean your filter carts.

Try to find a couple of really fine mesh skimmer socks and put them in the skimmer when you vacuum. If you can't find fine mesh skimmer socks you can use thick cotton socks in the skimmer. Vacuum on a low speed also.

If you don't use a suction side vacuum, try to find the finest mesh bag you can for the cleaner you use and use that when vacuuming up the fines.
