What Size Pump for Hayward DE Filter?

I have a line on a used Hayward DE3620 (DE Filter) for my 18' Intex Ultra Frame and need recommendations on pump size.
I am looking at the Hayward Powerflow Matrix 2 speed(2 speed required in Commiefornia).
I don't really have much use for a 2 speed since my Hayward 900 does all of the work for me.
Therefore, I don't really think I will ever run it on high and want to make sure the low speed is sufficient.
I struggle with high levels of pollen in my area so I want to make sure it has enough power for the skimmer but not so much that it turns my pool into a whirlpool.

What size pump do you all recommend for this filter considering it will be used in the low speed almost exclusively?
1HP?
1.5HP?

I think you mean DE ;)

There is no minimum speed for a filter. The equipment you list will be fine. You may only run on high for backwashing the filter.

Fixed it! Thanks.

So the 1.5HP on low won't be too much (not for the filter but for the pool itself? I don't want there to be so much circulation that stuff flies on by the skimmer.
