Water no longer green but still cloudy

We had our pool professionally opened 4 days ago and while the water is no longer green, it’s still very cloudy. We just bought this house so this is all new to us. Can anyone look at our test results and help with what we need to do to get the water clear?

For reference, it’s a saltwater pool (with a SWG) and about 25,000 gallons. We used a Taylor K-2006 test kit.

Is this a plaster, vinyl or fiberglass pool?

Cloudiness is due to a filtering issue. Has the filter been cleaned before opening? What type of filter is it - cartridge, sand or DE filter?

What was done to kill the algae (you mentioned it was green)? Once algae is killed, it needs to be removed via filtering or vacuum to waste.

Your pH and TA are good. You need to increase CYA and FC. It is best to use liquid chlorine (LC) to raise FC quickly. Then use the SWCG to maintain chlorine levels. Add 1 gal and 1 qt of 10% LC to raise FC to 5ppm.

It is recommended to follow FC/CYA Levels. For a saltwater pool - target CYA of 70ppm. But only do this once the pool is free from all algae.

Also, do you have a salt test kit - ref. K1766 from Taylor. Do not start the SWCG until you know the actual level of salt and then add salt to reach the desired level for your SWCG.

It’s a vinyl pool.

I’m not sure on the filter. I’ll need to check in the morning.

The pool guy shocked it when he opened it.

We’ve been vacuuming and cleaning debris every day and even running the Polaris.

We ordered the K-1766 kit but it hasn’t been delivered yet. We have a Hayward Turbo Cell TCELL940.

We definitely need to bring up the CYA and FC level for sure. Just wasn’t sure if we need to do the SLAM process or give it more time once we get the FC/CYA levels right.

This will help that we do not have to repeat the same request for pool information.

I would add stabilizer (CYA) to reach 30 ppm - now. Do aOvernight Chlorine Loss Test to ensure that there is no remaining live algae.
Add LC daily to raise FC.
If you do not pass the OCLT then you need to continue to do the SLAM Process

Once you pass the Overnight Chlorine Loss Test then raise stabilizer to 70ppm.
Add salt as required based on your test once you have the test kit.

Suggest you use the PoolMath app. This will help track all the pool tests and guide you on what to amount of chemicals to add.

Yes. You should not run the SWCG unless you know the level of salt. Do not depend on the SWCG to provide the accurate salt level.

Ok cool. So if I do know my level of salt, I would still keep it off during this process? Or leave it on? Sorry for the million questions, this is MY first pool I’ve had to maintain (had a chlorine pool growing up and my mom has a saltwater pool now)

Turn off the SWG during SLAM.
