Water exchange methods

I have a very high CYA level (180) so I am pondering how best to do a partial drain/refill. To minimize the risk to my liner, I'd like to be adding water as I'm removing it... but I don't want to be draining out the fresh water I'm adding. Is is possible to add water at one end of the pool and remove from the other and achieve what I want (bad water out, good water in)? I have a 16 x 32 inground pool, 8 feet at the deep end.

Absolutely very possible. In Massachusetts, I assume your fill water will be colder than your pool water,. If so, (pump off) place the fill hose down in the deep end and put your drain hose in the shallow end up on the steps.

Match the input and output flow, calculate how long to replace maybe 60 70%, and then shut off both hoses and restart the pump for maybe an hour and then retest CYA.

Is your refill water from a well?
