I read this article on the Nextdoor forum. It explains 'dry drowning' in dogs (somewhat different than in humans). It may be rare, but it still seems worthy of a quick read. Prevention is easy - make sure your pooch takes breaks from swimming. I'm always looking out for my grandpuppy when he visits and swims, but this information makes me understand that Willy taking breaks is more important than I realized. Happy and safe swimming to all the water-loving dogs out there - and their non-furry pack!
