Walmart's Poly Fill Premium

So I bought a bunch of Poly Fill from Walmart online to try stuffing it into my 3 skimmers, but... I guess I'm not sure, am I supposed to put the Poly Fill inside a sock or nylon? My concern about just dumping it into the basket is that it'll break apart and then get past the skimmer and into the filter pump and the main filter.? Thoughts from those that have used this in their skimmer baskets (for metals/irons, etc.)

EDIT -- forgot to mention, my skimmer does have a basket in it (see attached picture) --- so I would think the basket would keep the poly-fill in it, so i wouldn't necessarily have to put the poly fill into something else?

FWIW, my first thought with this is I don't need to put the Poly Fill in anthing so long as I have the skimmer basket in place. I'm testing it that way in one basket to make sure the poly fill doesn't break apart.
