Waiting game now?

Well, it's been a BUSY three days. After a green swamp situation, I think I'm reaching the end of my SLAM (after 20 jugs of bleach!). I have passed my OCLT and I have no CC in the water. My number are as follows:

CYA: 80
FC: 31
CC: 0
TA: 100
pH: 7.2 (it was before the SLAM, so I assume it is now, though I can't test because of the FC)

During the SLAM, I also deep cleaned my sand filter (wow, there was a lot of crud in it). I also added about a cup of cellulose to the sand filter after every backwash during the SLAM.

But my water isn't clear yet, though much improved. So my question is if this is just a waiting game now. I'm assuming it's a matter of filtration at this point?

This site is wonderful, and I've learned so much in the past few days.

I see. So that would mean, in my case, keep the FC at 31 until the water is crystal clear, and don't let it drift down? It has stayed at 31 for almost 12 hours now, and the SWCG is turned off. I guess, in my head, I was thinking that if the FC has stayed at 31 for 12 hours, there is nothing else left to burn up the chlorine, so the cloudiness is related to filtration.

You need to read the instructions for the SLAM again. You're not done with a SLAM until the water is *CLEAR*, your OCLT is <1, and your CC are 0.5 or less.

Just because the green is gone doesn't mean its over. Cloudy is not *CLEAR*. Keep going! It didn't turn green overnight so it may take a little longer to go clean.
