Treating the pool for possible mustard algae. I'm in the SLAM process now. My first question, I read different things about whether mustard algae is slimy. This was definitely slimy. Was planning to raise to mustard shock level for 24 hours, but maybe don't need to if it's not mustard algae? (See pics.)

Second question is, I know you're supposed to vacuum when you shock the pool. I've read on here that it's safe for the vacuum cleaner to be in the pool at shock levels. What about at mustard shock levels? I'm thinking it would be a good idea to let it stay in the pool for the 24 hours because it would kill any mustard algae that got into the vacuum, but also don't want to harm the vacuum with high levels of chlorine.

Thanks!!!

It’s a robot. We actually don’t have a manual. That is an area that gets some shade. We are also on the lake, and I’ve read that mustard algae often comes from lakes or rivers.
