Trying to replace an older Hayward skimmer

Hi,

I am trying to replace an older Hayward skimmer on a vinyl lined inground pool. I cannot seem to find a replacement that matches. The replacements I have found need to be attached to the steel wall differently than the original and would be under the liner. The original attaches with the middle screw holes (top & bottom).

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

In my opinion there isn't any other way to attach a new skimmer to the pool except the traditional way like when the pool is built .That being said you may be able to screw the wall panel to the skimmer face through the the skimmer cut out but best would be to pull the liner down out of its track but I don't know the age of the liner and/or the condition of it to start messing with it. As far as the middle hole you speak of it can be blocked off with the waterproof GORILLA brand tape from the back of the liner after a very good prepping as you don't want anything between the gasket and the skimmer frame when all is set and done.

My concern was mainly compatibility. Nothing appeared to match. I took a chance and ordered SP10841OM fully expecting to have to 3D print an adapter or something. It turns out that the face is exactly the same except it has additional mounting holes. It is installed and running. There are only 2 screws that need to go under the line, so that was not a problem. Now just hoping that there aren't any leaks. Thanks for your time and information!!
