Treat mustard algae before close or at opening

I have recently confirmed that I have a mustard algae issue. As I will be closing the pool fairly soon I'm trying to figure out if I should try to eradicate now with the mustard slam process or just wait and deal with it at opening. Any pro's and con's to one timeframe versus the other? Liquid chlorine is on clearance at my local Meijer right now so it could be a little cheaper to do now. On the other hand, I have a lot less free time now than I will in the Spring so it kind of evens out so wondering what other issues I should consider.

Why let it fester for 8 months ?

Thanks for the laugh. :)

I don't know you, but I can assure you that spring-you will curse fall-you.

Cool water slams go much easier. Get it out if the way, especially with clearance bleach, and put the pool away right.

I know you've been here a while, but since it's your first post: Welcome to TFP!

I'm just curious, what method did you use to confirm you are dealing with mustard algae specifically?
