Hello! Thanks to you guys, my in-ground pool's been doing great this summer, here in sunny Southern California. I've been self-testing weekly, and I just use liquid chlorine, with some muriatic acid once a week to drop the pH down. (A few times a year, I might add some calcium to bump up calcium hardness, baking soda to tweak alkalinity, and a little bit of cyanuric acid to keep those levels within the recommended range.) The water's crystal clear and feels great.
However: I've noticed that my Total Chlorine often tests higher than my Free Chlorine, sometimes significantly so. I understand this could be a problem, perhaps indicating insufficient sanitization?
Is this a test result that warrants action and, if so, what's the best way to tackle it?
THANK YOU.
