Are these thripes? Twice this year I've gotten them right after some major rains. I had switched over to SWG this year and this is the first time in 8 years I've ever recalled seeing them.

Is there anything specific to SWG and thripes that would be something I need to check or worry about? Or is the timing purely coincidental?

Levels are of course all good.

If u have been following the FC/CYA Levels & are certain u don’t have algae they could be feeding on (do an Overnight Chlorine Loss Test to be certain)
then there’s not much u can do in the pool itself & its time to check the rest of your environment

Oh springtails....not thripes

Thanks for the article. I do have some pine trees I removed just uphill of a retaining wall last summer. There are wood chips there from them being ground down and I wonder if that is the source of them.

Gonna call my exterminator tomorrow and see if they will spray do anything. Been waiting weeks for the tree guy to come back and remove the extra layer of chips because It was 2 high and haven't been able to lay down soil and grass yet.
