I have an Aqua-Rite SWG and it says very important cell must be mounted vertically is this right? I have my pool buried around 26” which is half way down and need to re-plumb because of flooding issues... I was wanting to keep all plumbing above ground for easy access so I didn’t bury the side where the equipment was but it became a pool on its own and almost fried my components... anyways I was gonna bury the pool all the way around and still be able to use my aboveground equipment but the cell says mount vertically and I’m not sure that will be possible? Does anyone know if mounting it diagonal on an above ground is possible? Thanks for the input ahead of time...

Because the RJ model does not use a flow switch, you have to plumb it in a way that the gasses can get out.

Sorry its taken so long to get back on I was out of town for a few days... Ok but I guess the only thing I'm not understanding is that the return line and the cell are always completely full of water so what difference should it make if it was vertical or parallel either way the gases should expel right?
If it's horizontal, gas can end up trapped in the plumbing.
If you want to go horizontal, you should incorporate a flow switch in addition to powering on and off with the pump.

If mounted horizontally gases will build in the cell when the pump shuts off. The gas will displace the water and cause the cell to run semi-dry and in low salt conditions before the system errors out. Doing that everytime the pump turns on and off will greatly reduce the lifespan of the cell. Either get a timer or a flow switch to automatically turn the system on and off with the pump.
I installed mine three years ago,and without reading instructions completely, did a horizontal installation. I use a piece of wood to support end where hose is attached, which also keeps slight upward angle for unit. Anyway, it has worked fine for me, so now I'm reluctant to change. Good luck!
