Suction-side that hits every spot?

I'm sure there's a thread for this but I've read a lot without finding it.

I have an old suction-side zodiac. It cleans well where it goes but doesn't get to a lot of places. I trialed a Wybot 2 Vision and it wheelied and floated and clogged making me think that the big pool filter is where the stuff should go to rather than a 1 sq. ft. onboard filter box. The idea of a motorized, pattern-following vacuum WITH a pool pump suctioning up stuff through it seems like a pretty obvious idea. Not really finding that on Amazon.

So, what should I do to make sure a suction-side device gets to all the dirt?

My pool is L-shaped, 6-feet deep in the center, 25,000 gallons, plastered and has stairs and ledges. Desert environment - wind, sand.
I need the system to minimize the trouble that comes from periods of inattentive maintenance because that is going to happen sometimes given my circumstances. Thanks for any help.

before it gets to your filter, it would have to go through your pool pump impeller, and all the 1.5”-2” piping underground without getting clogged or breaking the pump. You don’t want to do that.
The robot is designed to get big stuff rather than you having to brush and sweep up debris by hand. The pool filter is to get very small particles floating in the water.

Thanks for the reply. Right now, some large stuff gets stuck in the skimmer basket or the basket in the pump. Small stuff makes it to the d.e. pentair 4000. The zodiac sucks it up indiscriminately but could run for a week without getting to the far corner even if it doesn't get stuck in a near corner. Hose is long enough, just seems like the hose keeps steering it to the usual route. I guess I could run both types but the suction one has to be thorough.
