Had to replace my cover and ordered one that came with some of these little grommets said to help draining. Curious if anyone used them? Is it for rain water mainly or for when water floods over the top? Looking at it, not sure if it's even worth putting on.

I have seen them but never used them. While my cover does get water on top of it from my infloor cleaning system, it drains off by itself without the need for holes, grommets or drains in the cover.
That's what I kind of figure as well. Might be good to put at the end so I can tie a rope to that I use to pull the cover. I don't know maybe I'll drop a few in to see if it does anything.

I added a rope to help pull the cover off the reel and the length of the pool. I attached it at one of the flat seams about 3-4 inches in from the edge of the cover. Don't pull on it too hard or may rip the plastic cover.
