Solar heating with IAquaLink 2.0

We have a new pool using Solar heating only. On the IAquaLink app, solar priority is enabled and Temp 1 set to 85. Solar says heating but Temp1 seems to always be in standby mod. My question is, do these work together or simultaneously? Should solar be running whenever pump is running?

You have a single body of water Aqualink system and Temp1 is the higher temperature setting, Temp2 is the lower temperature setting.

In a dual system these two temps are replaced with Spa and Pool labels. The solar heat function is automatically associated with Pool (or Temp2). So when running solar heat you want to set Temp2 to the temp you want the water heated to. And Temp1 always needs to be set higher that Temp2 per the manual. If you only have solar heating then temp1 never does anything.

In your schedule you should have filter/pump and solar heat scheduled for the run time that you want. When the pump is running AND the pool temp is less than the Temp2 setting AND the solar temperature sensor (at the panels) is 5 degrees above the pool temp, then the Jandy valve controlling the flow to the solar panels will activate and you will see "Solar Heat" on the status listing. If you get clouds, wind, cold weather, etc that cools the solar temp sensor to less than 5 degrees above the pool temp the Jandy valve will turn off and it will show "Solar Heat ENA" on the status screen. The solar temp sensor will make sure that you never cool the pool should sun not be present on the panels.

The aqualink controller will turn the solar valve on an off throughout the day when the panels have the ability to warm the pool.
