I may have fixed the leaky pump inlet on my system. Now I am concerned about the pump's strainer housing lid gasket.
When I shut the pump down to fix the inlet, water came out in two places. The inlet and the gasket. Only a drop or two came out at the gasket, but that's enough to be an annoyance.
The gasket is H-shaped in profile. It's new. I bought a bunch of them. It sits in a square groove going around the top of the housing.
I cleaned the slot carefully when installing the gasket. I cleaned the lid, too, because it mates with it. Not sure what else I can do. Are some gasket brands better than others, or what? The ones I bought appear to be from some Chinese outfit with a name intended to sound Western.
