Slippery surface in fiberglass pool

We are heading into our second season as in-ground fiberglass pool owners. Last summer we had issues with people constantly slipping on the steps & tanning deck. The pool manufacturer (SwimUSA) recommended that we use surfboard wax on these areas before opening the pool this season. Has anyone had experience with this or would anyone recommend a different product?

Surf board wax ("sex wax") is pretty messy stuff, especially if applying underwater. If you keep your pool above 80 degrees, then you'll be re-applying it every week-or-so!

I wouldn't recommend, it but I don't know what else to tell you. There are stick on anti-slip strips you can apply to the gelcoat surface of the steps but I don't know how this would work on the tanning ledge.

You buy the wax formulated for the particular water temperature. "Tropical" board wax is good for water 80 degrees and above and would likely be the one you want.
