SLAM dunk!

After 4 weeks of SLAMing (with a 4 day break in the action caused by a planned vacation), my pool is clear and algae free! I passed the OCLT (no overnight drop in FC) and the numbers support an end of the SLAM:
FC 13 ... CC 0.5 ... CH 200 ... TA 80 ... CYA 35 ... pH 7.3.
If I'm not mistaken, now I only need to allow the FC to drift down to between 4 - 6 ppm, and maintain that level and keep the pH in range. It looks like my numbers are good.
I have yet to install the ladder and handrails, which I plan to give a good rinse before putting them in the water. Still not sure how to handle the brown stains at the water line.
Any other recommendations?
I feel good that with expertise of the folks here at TFP, I was able to clear the water without the hassle and bad advice of the folks at the pool store, nice as they are.

Congrats on clearing the pool.

The stains on the stairs could be iron stains. Vitamin C tablets crushed up in an old nylon placed on the stain for 5-10 minutes should lighten them. If so you need to look into either an asobic acid treatment or using something like Proteam Metal Magic. If the vitamin C tablets don't lift the stain try a triclor puck. If that works it is organic. Thanks for the quick reply - How would I use either technique for stains on the waterline? Would I fill a sock and scrub the stains with it? Would I also want to crush the puck as well?

If I couldn't rig up something to hold it there for me I would probably scrub it. No need to crush the trichlor.

Only thing to add is: round your cya up to 40 so 5-7 is your target. Never let it drop below 3 or you'll be slamming again.

The vitamin C tablet is just to test to ID the stain type. If you confirm it is iron, then you would go to the AA treatment.
