This time of year I am forced to use a skimmer sock because of the neighbors cottonwood trees. But when using the sock, air is getting into the suction side and I am forced to bleed the system several times a day. When I remove the sock there are no issues and there is no need to bleed off the air.
I know there has to be a simple solution to this issue. Any recommendations would be appreciated.
The pump runs at 1300 rpm for 21 hours and 3000 rpm for 3 hours each day.

It is not uncommon for air to develop in the pump when running at very low speeds. Although your problem could we do to the basket getting clogged up and the extra negative pressure in the suction line pulling air in. Is the pump only drawing from the skimmer?

Hmmm. So if the skimmer basket got completely clogged up, the water should just be drawn from the floor then, so I would not think the suction levels would change very much (unless the floor is clogged up.

Do you have the float diverter under your skimmer basket? If not, get one. If so, try closing off the port so all the water is pulled from the floor instead of the skimmer and see if you still have similar flow and filter pressures and whether air keeps showing up.

The cause of the problem ended up being a series of leaks on the HASA liquidator. I took the liquidator offline and all the problems disappeared. The liquidator is now awaiting trash pick-up. The old "KISS" adage is still correct even in today's world.
