Hey everyone,

Maybe I've become anal with the chemical levels ever since I joined TFP, but my pH seems to be stuck at 7.4. now I know this is in range but with changing my pump and heater this year I want perfection so they last as long as possible. Usually the pH tends to go up over the season and end up perfect by mid-summer...

Should I add some Borax as per the pool app to bump it upto 7.6? I've never added Borax, any potential down sides?

Thx

Why add ANYthing to that? Your pool pH *is* fine and you're just chasing a number. If you had a plaster pool and problems with your pool the pH *may* warrant adjustment to maintain a certain CSI number, but you have nothing to worry about.

Save the Borax for another day... or the laundry ;)

There’s no such thing as a “perfect” pH number (or any other single chem number for that matter).

Just be glad your pH is stable. 😉
