I tried the search and really didn't find anything overly helpful since they were mostly focused on a single product. I am shopping for a robot. Below are my requirements.

Pool - 15x30x54 flat bottom, 30ga swimline liner its around 26 mil. Minor ridges in the floor nothing folded over.

1. Price - 500ish, will stretch up to 800 if the features warrant it but thats pretty much a hard stop point.
2. If corded I do not want to deal with tangled up cord.
3. Pick up fine particles down to sand and clay(it's EVERYWHERE after the excavation for the pool)
4. Not sure if I should even consider wall climbing or if it would even work in an AGP but it sounds nice...

I will consider all brands. It looks like Aiper and Dolphin are the easiest to track down though.

Aiper, AquaBot or Dolphin. For an AGP you don’t need an expensive robot. In fact, you should look for ones that have foam rollers instead of the typical rubber brushes so as to avoid liner damage. Another option would be to try to contact either Margaret or Seth at Marina’s Spa and Patio (Colorado business) and ask their advice. They have always steered customers to robots that most match their needs rather than a trying to up-sell anyone.

I talked with Margaret today. She recommended a prowler 920 due to the pollen and silt in the air. She wasnt worried about the liner. I’m leaning that way, their price is very good.

The Prowler 920 is an S200 clone. Maytronics builds robots for the big pool manufacturers and they slap their own branding on it. It’s why you see so many Dolphin robots marketed that look nearly identical …. It’s because they are.

Don’t leave it in the pool 24/7. Take it out after use and hose it off and allow it to dry. That will give you the longest possible life. All of these robots are susceptible to water getting into the motor assembly and, once that happens, you’re screwed. If the motor assembly dies, they are not repairable, only replaceable. Current market prices for motor assemblies are $450.
