I finished my SLAM Saturday, pool looks amazing. Here are my morning numbers:

FC 22. (Slam target was 31)
PH 7.0. Diluted test 1/4 cup each of test water distilled.
TA 80
CH 350
CYA incomplete ..ran out of R013.. have to run to pool store n get. I was checking again since I added last bit of refill water yesterday.

Once I finish CYA test plan is to let FC drift down to my FC/CYA target.

#1 How accurate is dilituted PH test..should I adjust up or wait until FC nears target below 10 to accurately read PH?

#2 Pentair Cartridge Clean & Clear 100 does a good job...usually is 18 start PSI. I did clean it this morning....has been looking great..PSI increased from 18 to 23 yesterday..thus the clean...when I put back in...start PSI is 28... no clue why...I started n stopped pump several times..bled air...nothing says high PSI...I'm left scratching my head...my CC has been at zero for 4 days...pool is clean..covered with Lanai...very little stuff to clog it...have added nothing but chlorine in past 10 days...makes no sense...Thoughts?

Thanks

Ed

The diluted pH test would not be accurate. I would wait until the FC drops to retest. You may have difficulty finding refills at a store for the CYA test. If you only added a couple of inches I doubt it changed enough to matter.

I've never heard of anyone doing a diluted PH test. I guess it would work if you figure in the PH of the distilled water.
Examples:
diluted water checks 7.0 & distilled water checks 7.0 then pool water would also be 7.0
diluted water checks 7.0 & distilled water checks 8.0 then pool water would be 7.5
diluted water checks 7.0 & distilled water checks 6.0 then pool water would be 6.5

Ok..will hold off on the PH until below 10. Local Pinch-A-Penny..(ironic name) carries reagent refills...but 2 oz is 8.99... so I ordered from TFTestkit for 4 times a much for couple bucks more..woohoo! The retest can wait a couple days.

i searched and read on forum from a couple years back about a diluted test of PH...is why I did it and asked.

Thanks all.
