guys i have been using one of these for a while now .. its great for manually cleaning leaves off the pool floor. I usually connect it to my exterior garden hose - hose/bib and run water through it. Takes 10 minutes to clean pool compared to 2 hrs previously. Also adds tap water to pool to top it up .. so win win situation for me.

HDX Leaf Vacuum-68205 - The Home Depot

Question i have is .. whats the best way to recirculate pump water from pool back through the vacuum ? I don't want to run it through the hose/bib anymore since the water levels in pool are already high .. i just need enough pressure from return of pump and connect it to the intake end of the vacuum ? any ideas

i see 3 options here :
1. How do i connect back port valve to the vacuum ? - if that's possible or recommended ?
2. I have a Pentair FNSP 48 filter - Can i connect the Filter valve below the pressure gauge to the vacuum with a garden hose ? Again is this recommended ?
3. Can i connect my return line to the Vacuum ? Haven't figured out how to do that yet ?

thanks in advance for any guidance or suggestions.

Do you have a hose bib on the outlet of the pump? Most pools are plumbed with one.

i wish - that would have solved all my problems - no such luck

where would i plumb it ? I have a split from Pump to Heater and then to the pool return/cleaner - should i plumb it directly to the line before it returns back into the pool ?

One problem that you may run into is that a hose pressure tends to be much higher than what a pool pump can generate in normal operation so you may have to redirect the entire flow to that cleaner to get it to work.

Have you tried a leak rake? It may be just as effective and not require any flow rate:

yes i have and this is awesome advise as well... I have been collecting all the debris with it of late - the one in ur picture has a white lip to help scoop the leaves (and acorns) that fall in --- clever !!

My pump is a 3,4K RPM - so lets say there is a lot of pressure on return - still would like to know the best practice on return plumbing though.

thanks much.
