I am starting my pool that has sat empty a few years. I have the new liner and know everything i need to do for that so i am good there....what i don't know is what i should do to prepare the pump, filter system for the new re-start. It is a sand filter, single pump with a main drain , 1 skimmer and 2 supply jets. the main drain nor skimmer had been sealed off during the down time ... so just open to the atmosphere(minus the mesh cover )....
I had planned on just using my well water to get the liner set (about 6-9 inches of water ) and then calling a truck in for the remainder of the water to help get a good start on water balance. But before I do that should I run more like 12" of water and cycle the pumps and filter (which I will have new sand in it ) to make sure all the pipes are clean and have the ability to drain some of the debris that might be in there out?
Any suggestions will help!!!!
