I've been on this site for some while now but have never posted mainly Lurked...:D I enjoy reading all the posts seeing all the pics and learning new things. This will be my first post and I still consider myself an amateur in pool knowledge... So last week I just ordered and upgraded to a new pool from poolfactory.com I ended up choosing the 24' x 54" Saltwater LX. I have a Hayward Aqua Trol Salt System already and also have a Hayward 1 HP Single Speed Power-Flo Matrix Pump and a Hayward 100lb Pro Series High Rate Sand Filter that I was using on my old pool which was a 18' x 52" Monaco Elite My question is if those pieces of equipment I already have are good enough or rated to use with the new pool im getting? or should I upgrade? The equipment is in excellent condition still. I have read mixed responses online and thought I'd ask the PROS!!! :D Thanks for any help!!!

Hello,
Welcome! Good first question. If it isn't broken don't fix it. If the filter is small, you'll need to backflush/clean more often. What are your electric rates? How long is your pool season? Always maintain the proper chlorine/CYA ratio and you'll be fine. Test often till you get to know your pool. I'd say go with what you have. If you're having to back wash too often then get a bigger filter.
