Question about algae stain for AG pool

Hello,

I have an above ground pool (18ft, round, Intex). I put a cover on it, but it was a really cheap cover that came with the pool and it didn't last very long. We live in Michigan so the pool has been collecting debris and algae for about 9 months. It's a swamp (the kids have been having great fun catching tad pools and frogs lol). I ended up just completely draining the pool. There's no water but it left behind a ton of algae on the bottom of the pool. My question is what's my next step? Should I start filling the pool back and turn on the filter and start putting in lots of bleach? We have an Intex 3000 GPH sand filter and pump.

Any help/advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

How about a scrub down with diluted bleach solution and a brush and hose? Then you can re-drain all that and start fresh.

^ That would be my suggestion, too.

Old clothes, bleach, and a push broom. Then bail out what you can and mop up the rest with old towels. Maybe a wet-and-dry shop vac if you have access to one. Then refill and SLAM Process. If you got the visible stuff out the SLAM Process shouldn't take but a day or two to pass all the tests.
