Happy Saturday everyone! So I just opened my pool and it seems to be balanced nicely and I’m wondering how do I figure out how long each day I have to run the pump? I saw somebody said you can figure out on Pool Math but I don’t see a place for that.
Thanks!

The amount of time you run your pump is really up to you. The function is to help you skim your pool. If you have a salt water generator you need to calculate enough time to generate the amount of chlorine you need to produce.
I run mine for four hours a day at about 2400 rpm

I don’t have a saltwater generator, I have an above ground vinyl pool so I didn’t know if there was a formula that help me figure out what was the minimum amount of time to run it a day!

Some pool servicing companies really push water turnover - for example “you have to run your pump for 12 hours a day to make sure the water gets filtered blah blah blah”
In actuality, it’s you keeping your pool chemicals in order that maintains a sanitized and clear pool. Since you are just using liquid chlorine like me, you should run your pump for as long as it takes to skim the top. I do mine for 4 hours a day and it works fine for me. Maybe try different settings and see what you feel comfortable with. 🙂
