I'm having an issue with the hoses on pump and sand filter coming off. Of course we they come off I lose a third of the water in my pool. Its happening about once a month and is different hoses. Hoses and clamps are less that a year old from Ace. Any input would be helpfulthumbnail (1).jpgthumbnail.jpg

Heavy duty hose clamps. Torque them properly.

This is the type of rubber type connector we use for our hard plumbed lines. Plastic connectors with barbed ends also hold the tube in place.

Thanks everyone. I think we're going to pvc

You made the right choice. It is quite easy as well, just be super careful to sand the pvc surfaces that will be clued together, clean the surface with appropriate acetone or cleaner (not too much or u will dissolve the pvc) and then apply pvc glue to both pieces, and within 1 minute, put it together (no turning, push it in straight).

I glued about 10 connections last week, everything is holding up perfectly. I connected our Intex-equipment to a heater, and conencted the pool with 50 mm hose since it is 12 meters away from the pump.

Clamps should not be used for pools in my opinion, lots of risks involved if it breaks (broken pump, flooding in the garden etc).

The glue and solvent may be different in Sweden but there is no reason to sand the joints for US pvc. Simply use PVC cleaner/solvent on both sides of the joint.

I personally think it is good practice to give the joint about a 1/4 turn twist as you slide them together. It may not make any difference put I feel it distributes the glue more evenly.
