Tyler Texas
My pool has been up and running for a little more than 2 months. During my build I read TFP pool school to educate myself so I could take care of my own pool rather than pay someone. I bought a TF100 Taylor test kit and familiarized myself with it. Currently my pool is crystal clear. I've had no algae, cloudy water or high levels of CC more than 0.5. I used chlorine pucks to get my CYA up to 50 and then converted to using 10% chlorine. Today I was bored so I decided to take a large sample of my pool water to Leslie's and my pool builders store. After getting those results I tested the same sample with my TF100 kit. Some things I learned today 1. No one is more concerned with your test results than you. 2. Our Leslie's store uses Taylor drop tests and some test strips for their complete analysis. 3. While Leslie's was testing my water using their Taylor kit, they didn't rinse the tube out between tests. So when they tested CH, a little of the colored water was left in the tube when he added more pool water to test the TA. 5. Leslie's was adding drops so fast during the test he miscounted on one of the tests 4. My pool builder uses strips only to test.

So here's the results:

Leslie's
FC - 5
CC - .2
CH - 210
CYA - 80
PH - 7.8
TA - 80
Phosphates 500

Pool Builder:
FC - 5.2
TC - 5.2
PH - 7.1
TA - 41
CYA - 42
CH - 300
TDS - 800

TF 100:

FC - 7
CC - < 0.5
PH - 7.5
TA - 70
CYA - 40-50 according to my eyes, and full sun behind me
CH - 275
