Last year around this time, I had a new Carver 1.5hp 2 speed pump installed, and now im noticing when its on high speed, water is coming out from the bottom, but if I keep it on the slow speed, it dosent leak. First off, should it be leaking for just being a year old? We had no winter this year, so it never froze up, and I would keep it running all night if it did get below freezing by chance. Ive sent message to Crown Pools who sold and installed to check warranty, but thought I would inquire on here while im waiting for their response. Im also getting ready for the new pool to be installed come late april or early may..Im curious to see how bad the current rust is on the inside walls....

It shouldn't leak, especially at only a year in service. Was it the entire pump-pot & motor (wet & dry ends) or just a motor replacement last year? If the motor only, it sounds like the shaft seal and/or seal plate may not have been installed properly. If if was the entire unit, it may just be defective from the factory. Either way, I would hope it should still be under warranty.
