Pool coping chipping, can I seal it?

Murrieta, CA.
I recently purchased a home with a nice-to me-pool. Only mechanical issues at this time are the spa actuators only work manualy (switches) and temperature sensor (ERR), which I have ordered. However, the paver coping appears to chip fairly easily, some of which are very sharp, and I am afraid it may cut someone if a chip falls into the pool, which a few have. Curious if I can get a nice sealer to protect the coping and help prevent further chipping.

Pics attached.

Looks like "spalling". That usually happens only where you have freeze/thaw cycles. Not sure why it's happening in your location unless the coping was defective. Sealing should help but be careful the surface doesn't become smooth and slippery.
