I started the water balance chemistry last night. Here is a link to my log from Pool Mathurin.

So far I have added enough Dichlor (0.6 oz by weight ) to get to 4ppm, does that mean my CYA is 4ppm also?

I'm using a TF-100 ( my reagents are a bit older, ordeded a new refill kit last night) and a food scale to measure the weight.

Let me know if I am on the right track and feel free to offer any suggestions or advice on anything else I need to pay attention to.

318 gallons...I used the effect of adding in pool math and it said it should have raised it to be 7.8ppm FC and 7 ppm CYA.

Not sure if the age of my 871 for the chlorine drop test could be impacting the results, the powder is hard and caked together, I had to scrape some off with a knife to do the test
How big is your tub?
.6oz Dichlor in a 600 gallon tub will raise FC by 4.1 and CYA by 4.
Seems like you are on the right path...

Not sure if the age of my 870 DPD powder for the chlorine drop test could be impacting the results, the powder is hard and caked together, I had to scrape some off with a knife to do the test.

If the water turns pink, the 0870 is fine. Bad reagent (0871) would likely result in a higher FC rather than lower.
