PB wants to replace the SWG with a bypass pipe during initial chemical balance?

Trying to figure out what this part is called. He said the initial chemical balancing they do is hard on the salt cell so there's some kind of temporary pipe they put in it's place during balancing. Any ideas?

Never heard that either.

Out here a spool is a large spa (or small pool) that is basically a pool and spa in one. Small enough that it can be heated reasonably fast and jetted seats but large enough to actually swim around a little.

I know that for my Intellichlor, the owner's manual says to shut it off when adding any chemicals. I'm not very good about doing that though! Rarely do I remember to shut it when I'm adding acid, or even chlorine (which I almost never have had to add). And, right now the pool is closed and frozen over!

"An optional Spool Piece (sold separately) is available to replace the cell during winterizing or cell maintenance. This will enable pool pump to circulate water with the cell out the of line. See Figure 19."
