Painting Spa Side Remote

Has anyone ever pondered or actually painted their spa side remote a different color? They have great spray paints designed to work with plastic. I’ve got a Pentair IS4 in white and it stands out like a sore thumb against my earth toned rocks it’s mounted on. I just installed it and used Rustoleum Camouflage tan spray paint on the pipe side going underground back to my panel. You don’t even see it unless you look hard. I was thinking of doing the same on the touch pad itself. Tape around the edges to protect my rock. Not sure how to protect the rubber buttons but figured the paint would probably rub off there anyhow. Wipe with alcohol to clean then a coat or two. I’ve already used colored grout caulk around the sides to blend in and fill the gap due to the unevenness of the rock. Anyone try this before? Thoughts and suggestions appreciated. For those who might ask... the buttons are about 6” above the water line.

It will work as you outline but will wear due to sun, pool water etc. They make paint for plastic.
If it bothers you paint it. you can always touch up.

If you really want to get micro just tape off the buttons.
