Old pool lighting, help!

My house came with a pool and I'm slowly fixing all the issues I inherited. I think the pool was put in at least 25+ years ago.

I'm now looking at the lighting and trying to get a feel for what I'm dealing with. Any and all help with what I have and what I can do is hugely appreciated!!

I've attached some pics and am looking for your interpretations and suggestions.

Lights: They're all about 3" in diameter, including the mount. The glass itself is prob about 2" in diameter. I can't see any way of accessing the light/niche without breaking the plaster.

Power: There is a junction box with 120V power coming in and two wires going out. I assume a controller/transformer was here at some point.

Fiber optics?: In the picture, I circled in red two capped PVC pipes. In the pipes are what appear to be fiber optic bundles that have been cut. I assume these were used for color changes on the lights??

Grounding pole?: In the picture, I circled the metal "rod" in yellow. I assume this was some sort of grounding rod?

Holes near steps: In the picture it's a little hard to tell, but here are holes that have been caulked over. Possibly the fiber optic bundles used these holes to connet the bulbs to a controller?

My question is, what do I have on my hands and what options do I have from here? I'd like to get a light system up and going.

Thanks!!
