I have owned my pool 20 years and the pool was 17 years old when I purchased it. In-ground vinyl, 20 x 40, hopper style,
33 k gallons. I have replaced liner twice, pump twice. I use a salt to chlorine system and a glass media filter. I have an electric heat pump that heats or cools pool as needed. I have a loop loc cover, but this year i left pool open, using only a leaf net during the fall. Much shorter time to get pool swimmable in the spring! I use a weekly pool service. I also use a Polaris Freedom robot and a Betta skimmer. At 81 years, I need all the help I can afford. And I am still learning about pool maintenance!
