Observations after upgrading my basic robot to a 'fancy' model

I just wanted to share some of my experience with my recent robot purchase. I did a lot of research as I always do before I bought the robot. It was a bit difficult though in terms of research as most of the robots I read about did not seem to be available in Canada.

I ended up going with the Polaris P935, which is the basic version of the lineup they have. I opted for the basic version as I had read on many postings that things like a remote control are not really necessary and more of a gadget. I had no issue with the robot's performance. It cleaned well and was super easy to clean the basket out. The problem that I encountered was that the robot more often than not would just miss dirt in the corners and near the steps where piles of dirt seemed to gather in our pool. as well, the tangling of the cord after the cycle was done was also fairly annoying to deal with when I was packing it up. as well, it is 2 wheel drive and would sometimes get stuck on a step. But the main thing I really started to not like was that every time I put the robot in to clean I never knew if the robot would miss some of the piles of visible dirt. Plus a few times I came out to find it just stuck on a step so I found myself needing to hang around during the cleaning cycle.

The store we purchased it from was amazing. They allowed us to return it for full refund to apply against any other model. We opted for upgrading to the P955. One of the main features of this upgraded model is the remote control. I am now loving this model. It cleans well, is 4 wheel drive, has an anti-tangling feature that helps with less cord tangling and of course the remote. I love the fact that I can let the robot run it's cycle and now if any spots were missed I can just direct the robot to the spot and it's cleaned. And so far no getting stuck. I've also found this model is way better with the water line cleaning. I didn't really bother doing the water line with the other model as it just didn't seem able to 'stick' in place to clean.

Just figured I'd share this feedback for others doing their robot research.

Thanks for sharing. It's always a tough choice when getting a robot. Especially when attempting to compare models and features.
