We have had kids swimming as well as a few storms.

I haven't had to add chlorine in a while.

It has a very slight green cast to it. Like it has turned from turquoise to a very pale teal or aqua.
Have y'all had this?
Oh the DPD is 0

Well, a couple thoughts come to mind that concern me. Let's see if you can clear this up for us ..
1 - You say the DPD is "0", but above the FC is 6. Can you confirm the current FC and how are you testing (what test kit)?
2 - SE Texas? Can you be more specific and/or tell us if you are on city or well water?
3 - Haven't added chlorine in a while huh? Can you tell us how long since you last added chlorine? What type was it?

Let's start there and we'll help for sure.

I tested it about 30mn before I posted. I have bought the individual chemicals as well as using parts of the HTC test kit. (I use a FAS DPD kit as well) I bought in bulk so I could try to save money in the long run while SLAMing when I opened my pool.
City Water Near BMT.
I put 3 tabs in last week and watch the CYA as well as FC. It doesn't raise the FC it just maintains it. CYA has been hovering between 30 and 45 with me making minor adjustments as needed (As per pool math)

Okay, the reason I ask about the water source is because some areas have been known to have some iron in it which can turn the water green. I'm hoping your city water is void of such iron so we'll assume the green is related to algae. When we get algae in the water, we have to perform a TFP "SLAM" (link below). The key points about a SLAM are:
1 - Lowering pH to about 7.2 before starting
2 - Validating CYA. I am concerned about the accuracy of the HTH CYA test and with a wide range of 30-45. If you feel that 40 is a good CYA number, then your SLAM FC level would be "16". If you feel that the CYA could be closer to 50, your SLAM FC level would be "20".

Remove the tabs for sure right now. They will continue to raise CYA. While you might benefit from a higher CYA for summer, it won't help for a SLAM. Just use regular bleach from HEB or Walmart to maintain your FC level of 16 or 20. That's where the FAS-DPD testing is so critical.

So follow the instructions on the SLAM page carefully and you'll see the water get better. If you have any questions, let us know.
