I thought I'd come by here and say hello and introduce myself again. Things got busy at work and I barely had time to swim, much less keep up with the forum. I retired at the end of April (after 37 years at the same place) and I've already spent more time in the pool this month than I did all of last year. We moved into our house 7 years ago. One of my requirements of a new house was a pool. We moved into this house in November and the pool was unusable. The stairs were broken and the pool hadn't been used in years. Fortunately, our realtor knew enough to recommend that we get a pool inspection and we were able to get the seller to reduce the price after we got an estimate on the repairs. Anyway, the time we waited for winter and then weather acceptable for repairs gave me time to research managing a pool and I found this site. I am forever grateful for this discovery. In 7 years, from the time we added water to the newly lined and repaired pool, I have never had to chase bad water. I've always had this TFP sparkle in my water. This afternoon I was mesmerized by watching the reflection of the sun through the moving water on the bottom of the pool. There were these fascinating hexagon light patterns on the floor. Beautiful, sparkling, TFP water.

Now that I'm retired, I hope to be a more consistent contributor to the group and help others who are just finding their way to managing their own pool. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Julie
