Hi all! First time pool owner of 22k IG liner pool. We opted for install at the completion of our home construction to save on the mess later on down the road—well I’m beginning to believe our little hill is haunted because we have had nothing but bad luck with both. I have been doing some reading and attempting to maintain my pool without hiring someone-I’ve actually enjoyed it so far (is that normal?) Our temps here have been in mid to upper 80s with some cool evenings and water temp is pretty nice at 83-84–well for the kids anyway. Looking forward to learning from all of you! So glad this forum was recommended!

Welcome, M! Your first assignment is to read ABCs of Pool Water Chemistry and Pool School. Read through those several times, because it's a lot of good info to understand at one reading. Then get either a TF-100 or Taylor K-2006C test kit, because you're going to be doing your own testing from here on out.

It gets addictive, testing and controlling your pool yourself! But you'll love the results!

Welcome! Yes definitely check out ABCs of Pool Water Chemistry & the other pool school articles. Keep fc on the upper end of target according to FC/CYA Levels
you’ll get a feel for how much fc your pool consumes daily. Also there are great videos on YouTube Trouble Free Pool
Happy reading, watching & pooling!
