Hi all,

I'm installing a new pool (gunite) and a super beginner with this! I was tasked to choose a pool finish from company WetEdge and the product line that's included was Luna quartz. We definitely don't want the rough feel on our feet or and small cuts on our kids feet or knees, which happened before in other pools. We were then directed to choose from the Primera stone with an up-charge of approx $11,000 up- charge (is it worth it)? I've been reading that Luna quartz line is not a favorite of installers but have no idea. I just want to make the right decision and value any feedback on which direction to go in. Is there any other line I should be looking into out of the options from the WetEdge website? Thank you in advance!

  • Luna Quartz
  • Primera Stone
  • Prism Matrix
  • Serenity Stone
  • Signature Matrix

My pool has Luna Quartz and it's smooth. I chose not to upgrade because my pool is large and the higher grade Wet Edge plasters are expensive. I got the white base and no one notices the plaster.

Quartz is one level above basic marcite mix.
If you are already paying for an "upgrade", you may as well get to a stone aggregate. Will last a lot longer and look nicer for a longer period.
In a 30x40 pool it will definitely stand out, don't overlook the feel/color/vibe it will add to the pool.

I'm not familiar with the different costs for this line. However, if smoothness is the main concern in conjunction with durability, generally mini or micro stone aggregate is the way to go, thus the recommended Primera Stone. However, if the Luna Quartz samples feel smooth enough to you, then it could be a great choice. Good luck with the build! :)
