Well new to TFP, and fixing to start a new pool.

I have had 3 estimates and all are pretty close. 50k to 60k
The one below is probably going to be the PB we go with.
18x36 gunite 3.5 to 6ft deep
stone scape plaster 1/2 to 1inch thick
3 bar stools with tile seats, and tile bar top
hot tub 7ft
12 inch tavertine
all Hayward equipment, variable speed pump, sand filter, pro logic Ps8 salt system w/computer software, 2 actuators and wireless antenna
and remote control
washed agregate concrete 700 sq ft
1 color logic spa and 2 color logic pool light
all plumbing schl 40 pvc 1 1/2 to 2inch
Hard plump with individual dual suction line for future jets (gonna install Laminars later)
was gonna get a fire pit but the cost was 4,800.00 extra
break down in cost
pool 32,850.00
Ps8 computer and software 3,500.00
spa with heater 12,600.00
stone scape plaster for pool 3,500.00 and spa 800.00

Never had a pool only know what the PB's have told me.
any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks Jeff

These computer models are amazing compared to what I saw over 10 years ago at my first house / pool build.

I hope to get a final pic of the design after the changes

Should I get extra wire for the PB to lay for future projects (Speakers, LED lights, Laminars, sprinkler system in planters)
Or wait and do it after its built.
I am a DIY kind of guy, but never with a pool.

Depends on your access to places where you want the wire / pipes run. I would not want to have to tear up the deck just to run some sprinkler lines or speaker wires.

That's a lot of stone exposed to a salt pool. Salt and stone don't get along well. Many pool builders say "its no problem, just seal the stone". It's no problem for them since they will have cashed your checks and your warranty will be over as the stone erodes away due to salt exposure.

I've watched my neighbors' stone erode and degrade after several years exposure to salt. My pool builder was honest and said "stone or salt, pick one, but not both". I picked salt and my pool was built with no natural stone surfaces anywhere. Stone looks great and its cheap in Texas, but its all limestone and is easily damaged by salt. Pool builders tell customers that this is a harder stone and its no problem, but unless they are using granite, it will eventually be a problem.

I agree with Chief on the flagstone. My friend had a salt pool with "Oklahoma Flagstone".

The coping (stone) had to be replaced after two years.

It's a great looking pool but it's straight chemical now.

I had my PB lay conduit under my deck for this reason to several areas. I also had him run water/gas/drain/elec for a future outdoor kitchen. Didn't want to be ripping up the decking in a year or two.

I eliminated the coping and went with a cantilevered edge. The concrete deck just extends about an inch over the edge of the pool. With a stamped concrete deck it would be easy and save on cost. There are several other options if you want a coping, just don't use natural stone.

As for giving up the SWG, I wouldn't give mine up for anything. It makes pool maintenance so much easier and the water feel so much better.

Well its been a while but got the hole dug and formed then rain like mofo!

But just got the forms fixed and steel went in this morning!
Plumbing tomorrow, Gunite Friday

Went with 18X36 instead of 18X32, and Ps8 computer system, and 2 color Led pool lights
Changed the coping also, not sure what its called but will ask. That's the extent changes so far.

Any advise or suggestions would be taken to the heart Thanks

"Rain like mofo"....lol, no kidding. We are building in DFW area & rain has held us up. Rain is in the forecast again!!! Ugh!

Well they laid some PIPE yesterday! And Gunite this Morning, Starting to look like a pool now.

5 Trucks Later, 60 yards..Now its time to water the pool so it will grow!

Now I know why there is holes in the bottom of pool, for ground water to enter.
More rain and now pool is half full.

I assume when plaster is sprayed this will water proof the pool floor?

They are supposed to start coping Thursday.

Yes, they will pump out the groundwater and seal up the holes when the plaster goes in.
